55th Annual Meeting a Success!

Thank you to all who organized, presented, and attended the recent annual meeting. There was such a wonderful spirit and energy. So many ideas were shared and discussed both in the sessions and informally in the hallways and during lunch. MAALACT 2023 Pictures

On behalf of the whole MAALACT organization, I would like to extend a special thanks to Sarah Krueger and all the faculty and staff at Mount Saint Mary’s University. The campus was beautiful and so was the weather!

Please mark your calendars for November 1-2 at Thomas Jefferson University for the 56th Annual Meeting. John Milligan will serve as President of MAALACT for 2024 and planning is already underway. Please contact John (John.Milligan@jefferson.edu) if you are interested in presenting.

We are also grateful that there is already interest in hosting meetings for 2025 and 2026.

55th Annual MAALACT Meeting

We hope that your semester is off to an excellent start! We wanted to remind you that registration is open for our 55th annual MAALCT conference to be held at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD on November 10th-11th, 2023. A tentative schedule for the conference is included below. Although we hope you can join us for the full conference, you are welcome to join us for any part that you are able to attend. The cost of registration for the full conference is $100 and Saturday only registration is $50.

The conference will feature 2 keynote speakers, Dr. Jeanita Pritchett (Montgomery College/NIST) and Dr. Rick Moog (Franklin & Marshall/POGIL Project), in addition to chemical education research talks contributed by faculty members at affiliated schools.

If you plan to attend the conference, please feel free to book a hotel room in our block at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Gettysburg, PA. To do this, click on this link and choose “Book Now” in the top right corner. When you enter our conference date, November 10th-11th, it will allow you to book in our block at our group rate of $104 per night.

Mount St. Mary's University to Host MAALACT 2023, Thomas Jefferson University in 2024

We are pleased to announce that Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD will host the 55th Annual Meeting the weekend of Nov 10-11th, 2023. Dr. Sarah Krueger will serve as President of MAALACT and meeting chair. If you have questions or would be interesting in giving a talk or helping organize a symposium at the meeting, please email contact her here. A Call for Papers will be sent later this Spring.

Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA has agreed to host the 56th Annual Meeting in the Fall of 2024.
